The Nightingale and the Rose

The Nightingale and the Rose

Based on Oscar Wilde’s story, this tale is interpreted simply yet beautifully using Performance elements such as Victorian ‘skirt-dancing’, Chinese dance silks and mime. The monochrome costuming displays the influences of Erte, Aubrey Beardsley and even Art Nouveau siren Luisa Casati, cut through with the dynamism of the scarlet ‘ribbon’ as the performance builds to its poignant finale.
